Ability to create icons for iPhone and Android: The iPhone and Android operating systems use 72-PPI RGB/A PNG images as icons. This new version includes new image presets to create those icons.
New image PPI compatible with WPF: Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) requires 96 PPI images or use in forms. IconWorkshop now creates BMP and PNG files at 96 PPI.
New Installer: A new application installer has been implemented.

This major release includes various bug fixes and enhancements:
Windows Vista and Windows 7 compatibility: The application is now fully compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7. The particularities and protection features of these operating systems such as the User Account Control are fully supported. Additionally, the compiled screensavers and the associated install procedures are also fully compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7 in both 32-bits and 64-bits versions (through WOW64).
New User Interface: The user interface has been totally redesigned. It is now based on a Ribbon-like toolbar as used in Windows 7 applications and Office 2007. The philosophy of use is the same (Librarian, File Browser, Multi-documents...) but the application now complies with the latest user experience specifications. Several interface styles and color schemes are available.
New features for Sprite Screensavers: The projects can be designed at different screen sizes. The vertical and horizontal filmstrips are supported. Two play modes are available: Performance or Energy Saving.
New features for Flash Screensavers: If you plan to redistribute your screensavers and in order to ensure compatibility with all computers, the adobe Flash plug-in installer can be included in the installation procedure of the screensaver. If the user does not have the required version of Flash, it is automatically installed. A new Zoom display mode avoids any background display. A new mode permits the user to use the keyboard to interact with the Flash movie (a game for example). Only the ESC key ends the screensaver.
New features for Slideshow Screensavers: Background sound loop playback has been optimized. A new Zoom display mode avoids any background display. You can add a watermark image over the slides.
New features for Video Screensavers: Video loop playback has been optimized. A new Zoom display mode avoids any background display.

IconWorkshop 6.31 Released

This release includes a plug-in which permits working efficiently with Visual Studio®. The principle of this plug-in is to create a direct bridge between the VS IDE and IconWorkshop. Just open the icon in the Visual Studio® resource editor and launch the associated plug-in command. The icon is automatically opened in IconWorkshop and you can work on it as necessary. When you save it in IconWorkshop, the VS IDE automatically refreshes the icon document. This feature is available in the Professional Edition only.

We are glad to announce the opening of a new version of the Axialis forum. The previous software was outdated, so we have switched to a more recent one: phpBB. It has more features and is based on a mySQL core database.
The new URL of the forum is http://www.axialis.com/forum. Update your links if any.
All the existing posts and member accounts have been transfered so the switch sould be easy. Only the avatars could not be transfered, sorry. You can set/upload new ones from the User Control Panel (top of page, on left, under the Board Index link).

You need icons? New free icons have been added to the Axialis library. Axialis has released a library of icons that you can freely use in your projects, blogs or websites. All the icons are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License. It means that you can use them in any project or website, commercially or not.
